Pattaya & Rayong, Thailand: A golfer's paradise
Pattaya has long been known as the paradise resort of the Eastern Seaboard. There is a wide selection of golf courses within a 40 kilometer radious of Pattaya. Many of them offer playing equal to any of the top international courses around the world. But prices are extremely competitive by comparison.
Many of the golf course have been designed by the likes of Jack Nicklaus (Laem Chabang), Gary Player (Sri Racha, Pete Dye (Khao Kheow, and Desmond Muirhead (St. Andrews).
Playing golf in Thailand is a delight. You've got a tropical climate, a female caddy to carry your clubs, frequent refreshment stops at kiosks offering snacks and drinks, and then a relaxing time at the 19th hole after the game. The staff are courteous and friendly. Who wouldn't want to play golf in Thailand?
Courses in the area welcome visitors seven days a week. Some courses require you to hire a cart, and carts are available at all courses anyway. Tip your caddy 150 Baht for an 18 hole game.
Most courses allow 5-balls during the week and a maximum of 4 players per flight on weekends.
You should always book in advance by phone or fax to ensure you have a starting time.
Only soft spikes are allowed on all courses on the Eatern Seaboard.

Comments: Built in 1958 and redesigned in 1978, this is our oldest course. The fast greens are a real test of your putting skills. Monkeys visit holes 6 and 7.

Comments: An ambitious project by Thai Summit Group of companies. 18 holes to be opened in December 2005. All par 3 are island greens. Stadium type fairways with lots of water. 9,000 sq.m. clubhouse and a soccer pitch with seating capacity for 40,000.
